“I have found this quite insightful and do recommend to anyone who may be interested! Robert has a very clear way of communicating facts and ideas in a structured manner which makes it quite easy to follow. I had already attended another course of his and just might look into the other ones he offers. :)”

“Some good solid advice here from someone who's been there, done that and bought the t-shirt. Highly recommend this course for anyone looking to set up a translation agency - some great overall tips even if it's not a translation agency.”

“This Course was excellent, although I am not a translator I have been an Interpreter for many years and actually own a language services agency that provides interpretations services, and want to expend my services to document translations, this course was very informative as I lacked knowledge on the ins and outs of the translation side of the language services. I have a lot more to learn but this course definitely put me on the right path to expanding my services and business.”

Who is the instructor?

I'm originally from Switzerland 🇨🇭, I served as Treasurer for the Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters (CATI), was a member of the board for the Swiss Association of Charlotte, and I've been involved with Freelance translation for over a decade, both as a translator as well as an agency.

I've been a featured speaker at ATA-sponsored events, Proz.com's Annual Conference, as well as the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters Annual Conference.

I started off working in banking in Switzerland, and then I received a Master’s degree (M.P.A.) from Cornell University in Finance. After this, however, I set out to build a career as a Freelance Translator and gradually set up my own Translation Agency, Lugano Translations.

This course comprises the process I went through to set up my agency, and it addresses the problems/issues that I went through when doing so. I'm also continuously updating it, so you will always have access to the latest version!
