  • Who should be using this Platform?

    This is for anyone who wants to use their second language to earn money. You don't need experience as a freelance translator to take these courses. We guide you through ALL the steps needed.

  • What will I learn in these courses?

    In short, you will learn everything pertaining to Freelance Translation, from A to Z. From Set-up, to finding your first clients, to getting picked for the job, to invoicing/keeping clients/etc. etc. You will also learn how to setup and use Proz.com to get clients, as well as optimize Linkedin to do the same (plus use it for general networking). And then, if you want to see how far you can take it, we guide you through how to set up a Translation Agency for yourself!

  • How long will it take?

    These courses are self-paced, so take them at your own speed! They do, however, give suggested time frames for getting started, so you can schedule accordingly.

Hi, I'm Robert!

I'm originally from Switzerland 🇨🇭, I served as Treasurer for the Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters (CATI), was a member of the board for the Swiss Association of Charlotte, and I've written several books on Freelance Translation.

I've been a featured speaker at ATA-sponsored events, as well as the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters Annual Conference.

Year ago I worked in banking, market research, and received a Master’s degree (M.P.A.) from Cornell University in Finance. After this, I set out to build a career as a Freelance Translator and gradually set up my own Translation Agency, Lugano Translations.
